This exciting day starts with a visit to Blue Bay Marine Park, where guests can enjoy snorkelling around the coral, gazing at Mauritius best exotic marine life. The day continues with the visit of the south east islands: Ile Aux Flamants, Eau Bleue for snorkelling, stopping at Ile Aux Phares and Ile de La Passe, and with a barbecue lunch, including lobster, at Ile Aux Cerfs. The boat continues to the pretty Grand River South East Waterfall and for refreshments on the conservation island of Ile Aux Aigrettes, thought to be the last resting place of the dodo.

The 45 minute trip, takes in the ship wrecked ‘Star Hope’, corals and a 17th century anchor. A fabulous experience, open to everyone.

SUBSCOOTER: The most original underwater excursion! Enjoy the fun of driving yourself or as a couple, your own submarine three metres under the sea, accompanied by our divers. This guided 35 minute trip allows you to discover the marine fauna and flora of Mauritius through a large, transparent panoramic cupola.

COLOURFUL SOUTH

Trou-Aux-Cerfs, the dormant volcanic crater with its 360° panoramic view starts the day. At Voiliers de l’Ocean you can watch local craftsmen make painstaking replicas of authentic  18th Century sailing ships. A drive through the forest of the island’s interior, will take you to ‘Ganga Talao’ – a sacred lake to Mauritian Hindus in Plaine Champagne. Further down the winding road of the Black River Gorges National Park you reach a local restaurant with a breathtaking view over the coastline. Continuing through pineapple and sugar cane fields you can discover Chamarel - be mesmerized by its magnificent waterfall and unique 7 coloured Earths. On the return journey, the impressive view is dominated by the iconic Le Morne Mountain and Ile aux Benitiers.

UNDERSEA WALK – 1 HOUR

Discover the marvels of the underwater life first hand as you reach out and touch a whole new world. Accessible to all, this must do excursion is an add-on to your holiday memories. The 20 minute guided trip takes place safe inside the crystal clear turquoise lagoon at 3-4 meters depth. Qualified and experienced staffs accompany you, while you enjoy the most silent diving operation on the island.

Enjoy a taste of Mauritian Heritage with a visit at Les Aubineaux – a colonial mansion built in 1872. Drive along tea fields to Bois Cheri Tea Factory to discover the secrets of tea before proceeding to the chalet for a traditional tea break. Lunch is served at the Plantation house of Saint Aubin, dated 1819. Visit an anthurium greenhouse with Mauritian vanilla growing among the distinctive blooms. The Domaine has its own rum distillery – so rum and sugar tasting is a must. Its then on to discover the exotic La Vanille Reserve des Mascareignes where Nile crocodiles, geckos, monkeys & giant Aldabra tortoises and an insectarium are found among luxuriant tropical vegetation.

CASELA WORLD OF ADVENTURES

Casela World of Adventures is the must-see attraction for the whole family! Spread over 250 hectares of lush greenery, Casela is home to 1500 exotic birds and numerous animals from Africa. Those in quest of adventure can interact with the wildlife – the highlight being a walk with the big cats - and try zip lining, bungee jumping, a Nepalese Bridge or Via Ferrata. The Tubby Slide and the Tubby Jump of the Avalanche Mine as well as the 4D cinema, the latest attractions, have already won the hearts of many visitors.

ISLET ESCAPADE

From Pointe Jérôme on the south-east coast, a boat will take you to the 25-hectare nature reserve of Île-aux-Aigrettes. Managed by the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation, this conservation islet houses indigenous plants and coastal ebony forests. The trip continues to Blue Bay and the beautiful white sand beaches of Île des Deux Cocos. After refreshments, visit the Follies, which, built 100 years ago by British Governor Sir Hesketh Bell, blends British and Moorish architecture with Creole style. Then, discover the marine environment by snorkelling or on a glass-bottom boat trip in the protected Marine Park of Blue Bay. After lunch, the island is all yours to explore at leisure.
